Sorry to have neglected my Blog lately, but around last November I rediscovered Golf. Wow am I rehooked! My family joined a local Golf Club and I'm there almost every day... 9, 18, 27 holes, I can't get enough. Really it's a welcome addiction, losing weight, something to really look forward to. Ideal hobby for my semi-retirement. Back to my good old sporting self. Go Annika!

I hate to get political in the same post... but Bush is back at it with his hateful Anti-Gay and Anti-American ammendment crap. What a lame duck that he has nothing better to do to improve our country. Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness... how quickly we have forgotten. Canada got it right with gay marriage, and England, and Spain... but oh no, not us and our holier than thou attitude to start out the new century with intolerance and hate right here in the good old U.S.A. How disgusting, and how embarrasing! Please tell your congressman that you have seen the light, and that this ammendment is a hateful waste of time, and would set our country off in exactly the wrong direction. Bush has no interest in you or me, only in lining the pockets of his family and his rich cronies.

This makes me sick to my stomach. I would like to get married some day and this @$$ isn't helping our cause.
I hear that, hopefully some day you will be able to get MARRIED... and not "civil unioned" either. By the end of this (if my partner and I live that long), we will have "gotten hitched" legally probably 3 times. Once in Oregon Multnomah county a couple years ago, next for the civil union law our congress may pass this year (Democratic congress now in Oregon), and then if gay marriage is ever legal where we live. It would be a shame to let them "chase us off" to Canada, give up our country to be able to be married.
I want to add that the first time we got legally married in Mulnomah County, Oregon, less than a year later, Multnomah Co. was pressured to stop issuing marriage licenses to same sex couples. We received a letter from them saying our marriage was no longer valid, with a check for what we paid. How cheery is that?
